Hi Guys,i need some assistance if anyone may be able to help.My vy v6 wagon recently overheated, this is where it started, was at lights, and noticed the temp gauge rise straight to hot, warnig signal went off, pulled into servo, had a look, water(brown water)pouring out from underneath where the resivior bottle is,managed to get the cap off,no water, filled up,and off i went,10 mins later, same thing.Got it home, and straight away replaced the thermostat, plus ive flushed the motor twice, and replaced the coolant to specs. Then yesterday, the bloody cap blew off completely, and actually fell apart,so i got a new one, replaced it,and off i went. This morning, gauge went thru the roof, water pissing out of overflow hose,ps,i did bleed the system, unscrewed the brass nipple on top of the thermostat, and all was great, now i need your assistance,im getting so many peoples advice, which i have tried,so this is why im here,im a new user, and i could do with the help, thanks,Todd.

it ran better without the thermostat, but i was told not to do it,due to it may cause problems with the head or the cooling ports
