VY Wagon
My 2003 VY Wagon had cooling problems over an 18mth period up until 6mths ago approx. It now has done around 245,000kms. . I had most things done over an 18 mth period except having the radiator replaced. The overheating problem would persist some times months in between it happening again. The radiator was replaced approx 6mths ago, so far so good. New radiators cost a few hundred, a very worth while investment.

Been thinking about this, sounds very much like the LIM Gaskets,
I had a very similar situation, losing water,
Well I figured it must of be the LIM Gaskets !,
Since I have changed them, I have had NO Water loss,
But I also did do, is install a small hose clamp on the return pipe from the recovery tank/reservoir,
as that was lose, where it connects to the radiator neck,
so I guess that would of let air back into the system when its cooling down and contracting of water back into the radiator.
