isn't it "too low" or it's just me ? looks like the rear end almost hits the ground when shfting to "D"

I reckon you get a better launch off the mark in an auto, especially if you stall it up and ride the brake.

when you have enough money for a new trans. or a rebuild , sure why not

No, must be just you. I never had any problems with the height of it. If anything, I would have liked it a touch lower.

I've had a new VE SSV since November 2008 but have been too slack to post any pics of it yet. I had a go at taking some pics but I wasn't happy with them due to my excellent photography skills (NOT!)
