Maybe? In the VY, the clusters are programmed by Tech2, so a V8 cluster can be used in a V6 provided the cluster is programmed by Tech2 at Holden. There are other means of programming, but I can't give much more guidance on that. The major issue is that series 1 and 2 clusters are not fully compatiable. If the wrong series is installed, then the fuel guage will work backwards and DTE will be a useless function on the trip computer. Make sure that you get the compatiable cluster as the fix after installation is messy or expensive.
Yes it will work, it just has to be reprogrammed by Holden using tech2. Make sure the SS cluster is the same series as your V6 otherwise the fuel gauge will work in reverse.
is there alternate software we can install on Laptop and do diagnoses, programming like tech 2 through laptop ???
Im not sure mate, but ive been thinking about it. As i have made up the necessary cable but just need the appropriate software. Im going to see Phreddy (ASR) on Monday night & ask him, so ill let ya know.
here is mine. I have a Vy series 2 ute. I fitted the level 3 hsv cluster. Had to take it to Holden and get them to calibrate it to suit my car. eg. 6 cyl, fuel tank size, diff ratio, auto and the set the k's too. Dr.BOB who can still be found on here can do the work for you for $150, he can also supply the cluster. memcals.com.au is his site. check out my build to see it going in. http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/vy-vz-wk-wl-v2/96294-my-vy-ute-s2-hsv-mock-up.html
