It would be boring if Holden/HSV had the edge in the V8 department all the time. Ford need some time in the spot light once every 10 years too.

It'll come out, beat Holden/HSV for a little while, and Holden/HSV will have something better.

Your right, Holden will come out with a 16 litre v8 that produces the same amount of power and torque and uses 458 times more fuel. :)

Ive been on both Ford and Holden forums and i've noticed theres no point asking about Ford vs Holden. A Ford forum will say Ford regardless of the facts, a Holden forum will say Holden regardless of the facts.

u know the sad thing is.. im a ford man... but id still get the holden out of those 2... cause the GEN 3 is so much better then the POS boss v8... id choose a BA XR6 over the VY 6cyl cause ford 6's are better in my books.

Exactly. These type of threads will always attract bias. I can accept that Ford do make some good cars, but the majority of us post on here because we like Holdens/Commodores.

Don't get me wrong there a Fords I like aswell, but I will always prefer Holdens, even if this new Ford V8 beats the Holden offering.

The only Fords I would strongly consider are late 60s/early 70s Mustangs, or Falcons from the same vintage. From 1980 onwards Commodores have always been better cars. IMO

the only good 6 cyl engine the holden had in the 80's was the Nissan 3.0L. the others were rubbish lol ford cross flow 6 cyls were alot better then the others imo

    Yes indeed.:p

BURNOUT BAZZA- I've always liked the Ford I6s over Holden V6s, but the old Holden 6s were, and still are great old motors.

Part of the reason why I don't go much on Falcons from the 80s is there was no real performance models after the V8 was dropped in the XE.

Give me a Blue Meanie, or a VL Brock anyday. Even the VN SS Group A. Ford had no answer in terms of local product. I honestly think Ford are just starting to hit back now when it comes to their V8s. Their 6s have always been gems, but they've behind the 8 ball on the V8 side for about 15 years. IMO

they did actually. the prob is that they were from turner companies. cause there were 100 XF Twin turbo Awd Falcons made. i have the artical somewhere and i have actually seen one in frankston a few years back. the other reason why they didn't really have any hot verions after the XE was they didn't have falcons in the v8 supercars... they were running sierras if i spelt that right. so nothing really to base one on.

there werre plenty of hot fords on offer in the 80's its the fuel shortage that killed them off.

I have heard of twin turbo XFs, but I was talking mainly along the lines of what HDT, and HSV were offering. The best Falcon Ford had was the S Pack.

The Sierras were great cars, but they were non-local.

no they had the ESP that was the top of the line. but yet again that only went to XE. XF didn't have much at all. oribly the reason why i hate that model. lol

oh and yeah i know the sierras weren't local. thats why ford australia didn't have a good falcon at the time lol
