VY UTE wheel bearing collapsed
Link^

So I pulled off the rear brakes off my ute since I had a bad grinding/squealing noise along with random fishtailing above 50, vehicle was seriously dangerous to drive.

Symptoms were:
Fishtailing
Grinding/squealing from rear
Rear wheels get stuck/difficult to rotate while driving especially in reverse
Brake pedal went down quite far, brake warning came on, car took a bit more effort to stop

I’ve uploaded a video of what I’ve found seems like the wheel bearing has collapsed as when I took the rotor off the metal bits poured out of the hub.

Anyone have similar experiences or can share any thoughts/advise/remedies ? Thanks

To pull it down, and replace the bearing would possibly cost a fair bit,

On the other hand, source a replacement control arm from a Wrecker, and should be an easy/quick fix.

So the bearing is stuffed? I’ve heard the bearing is pressed into the control arm

The way you have explained it, I would say so,
And yes they are pressed in the fitting,

That’s why I mentioned to possibly just get a rear control arm and fit the, then refit what is required.

Looks like a fair amount of work either way:
