Howdy... a newbie here (first post). I've got a 2003 vy V6 ute with a 5 speed manual box. She sits on approx 2600 at 110 km/h. So sounds pretty normal I guess.

Just wondering what sort of revs the manual ecotec owners out there are sitting on at cruise pace. I sit a bit under 2500rpm @100, whereas one of my friends in a VU v6 sits at a bit above 2000rpm @100.
What's normal?

Is the VU a 6speed? that could be the difference.
At 110kmh my VZ SV6 sits at 2100rpm but thats an Alloytech 190.

Nope the VU is a 5 speed - very notchey compared to mine though. generally through 1st-3rd gear it can do about 20-30km's more than mine can do. 4th and 5th are about 30% longer also.
Maybe he's got a lower ratio diff than usual

VY Manual Sedan.

My VS II and VY II both had identical gearing, and sat at about 2300 at 110, and about 2100 at 100.

That ties in with fifth gear, final drive ratio and /wheels/tyres.
