VY V6 Gearknob

can anyone tell me how to take off the gearknob of a vy v6 manual? i thought it was to be twisted off... however it seems a bit tight..

The gear knob is removed by pulling the knob up off the gear shifter.There is a plstic clip insde the knob holding it on,so to replace just press firmly on it and it will lock on.

The "official" instruction is to lift the boot and prize the knob from underneath the boot with a big screwdriver. To do this you need to remove the centre console first, which is relatively easy, starting from the rear and pulling it up , remembering to release the power window plug and a screw under the rubber tray at the front of the console.

tried it.. and didnt work.. i just wanna change gearknobs for cosmetic purposes only
