Hi,

I thought I would post a pic of my airbox as I cant find any showing what the HSV modded one looks like. They have blanked off the 90mm inlet that usually snorkels up to just above the passengers headlight and instead mounted a fluted shape to hug right in behind the headlight.

I dont understand why they blocked off the original 90mm hole too, so I popped the blanking plug out and have fitted a straight pipe from bunnings to close behind the headlight also.

It is very similar to what everyone is doing with the 2 hole mod, but the HSV one is shaped and contoured much nicer.

Cheers.

the MCAI is better then the HSV one
as you can see it only sucks air from the one shielded hole
with the MCAI 2 hole mod you have both hole shielded

Ah ok I didnt know that there was a headlight hugger on the Monaro.

I have only seen on the vx ss airbox is identical to mine except the ss has the pipe going up to the rad shroud.

So the 2 hole mod with this headlight rear hugger is better than the stock HSV shaped outlet and a 90mm trumpet out to behind the headlight?

I need to hunt me down a headlight hugger from somewhere.

Am I understanding you correctly?

I was lucky enough to buy this on TradeMe for $100NZD maf, airbox, shroud and pipe.

Its good as I wont have to hack up the HSV one I can just leave it in the shed.

Cheers for the advice.
