Hi all, Recently, after being quoted an exorbitant amount of money to fix a fairly trivial problem on my VYS2, i thought i'd give it a go myself, Now don't get me wrong, I'm fairly handy with a spanner and never really baulk at doing anything mechanical myself. However, i really love my holden and with this one being in such good condition i generally leave it to the experts. That said, $400+ dollars to fix a windscreen linkage left my jaw on the floor. Usually(on my old cdore) I'd get the tools out and armed with my manual go fix the problem. This is where the problem lies. It seems that Holden do not produce a workshop manual for this model only a dvd. This is all fine and dandy (for them) but they want about $300 for it and thats the basic version I'm told. My question is has anyone out there purchased this dvd? And is it worth the money? I just dont want to spend 300 bucks on something that may be no better than a "gregorys" workshop manual. Thanks in advance.
There was somebody on ebay selling dvd manuals a short time ago, cant remember the link address sorry but maybe a search will give some results?
Workshop Manual on CD Hi, I have the GMH manual for the VY S1 on CD. It leaves a Gregorys in its dust. I got mine for $100 off Ebay about two years ago. Haven't seen many genuine ones for sale. I also have a VY S2 manual, and the S1 CD has answered all my questions so far. However, $300 is a lot. I would happily pay three times the cost of a Gregorys, but would baulk at $300. Let us know which way you go.
Wouldent think it would be that hard to do the one in my vt was easy to get out ya just gotta take ya time with the stupid plastic screws if the vy has them like the vt.
Unfortunatly Clutchy therein lies the problem, I have tinkered and removed all the plastic screws, but the bloody grill still wont budge - and i dont want to force it for obvious reasons. besides i'm going to install an Amp, new head unit, speakers etc etc. So i really want the manual for colour codings console removal and all that jazz.... P.s Thanks Fekason for the feedback.
i got a work shop manual which covers commodore 1997-2004 for about $35 from supercheap auto and it is very handy check out this website Ellery Publications
