hi all, looking desperately for a accelerator pedal for my commodore vz ss 5.7l motor 2004 , rang just about all wreckers in Melbourne and now working my way through Sydney, my question is there a replacement part that can be bought or a person who can refurbish , open for suggestions thanks

Just as a general suggestion, Holden/GM would have used a position/angle sensor made by a third party manufacturer. The pedal and mounting bracket would probably be specific to your particular model.

So, see if you can find the brand (and model) of the sensor used on the pedal. Try searching for it (the sensor) on the web to see if the sensor itself is available separately, or if there are aftermarket part suppliers who sell them, or recondition them.

Failing that, search the web for other GM accelerator pedal assemblies used on that engine, or used on other GM vehicles, manufactured at approximately the same time/decade. You may find another accelerator pedal from a completely different model that uses the same sensor.

The (whole) accelerator pedal assembly is made by a company called PVI - https://pvi.co.uk/

The 9220500 is just the Holden/GM part number.

The bit that you really need to refurbish it is the angle/position sensor which is the module (with the five silver screws securing it) that the connector plugs in to. It’s this bit that is probably used in a range of vehicles. Can you see any brand symbols embossed on the sensor itself and any part numbers?

Do you have a picture of the connector (as there are a few different pin configurations used by GM)?

Also, this thread may help too - it looks like others have been down a similar path (but for the 6L engine?) - https://www.ls1gto.com/threads/accelerator-pedal-sensor.793474/page-5

I like where this is going. I opened up the pedal on the V6 one when it was buggered and it’s a super simple set up in there.

super simple but impossible to refurbish… because the resistance coating and sliding fingers are not available as a kit

Wrong, saw VZ and assumed LS2. Was the title edited? I don't remember seeing 5.7 when it first went up?
