Vz Calais 05 Alloytec 190 with a secret mod
Hi everyone, just wanting everyone's opinion on getting a tranny cooler and if possible to get one and install it on a 05 Vz Calais 190 alloytec with a 5speed. Because I'm looking into making it a pure track car as a hobby.

So is it possible to get one fitted? Worth it? As I know these transmission don't like too much power/hammering. Would fault codes be throw about and cause issues?

And if anyone knows rough pricing on one, I could install it myself with the help of my brother.

Also anyone saying why not buy a v8 and stuff like that, I'd suggest not even commenting as it is pointless as I pointed out that I want it to be an alloytec.

    Cheers.

wouldn't hurt to put one on, would look after the oil and trans, don't think it would cause any codes, (any auto be it v8/v6/4 cyl) would benefit

Personally I'd keep the calais as a daily and use a car with a decent engine (v8) and a manual

But PWR do tranny coolers for around $210 off ebay

If you intend using it as a 'track car' only then you will also need to put a cooler on the power steering and diffrential. You will also need to upgrade the engine cooling system (it won't cope) as well as some forom of air induction to the brakes (they won't cope either). Hope you've got plenty of cash.

He should already have the power steering cooler as its a factory option - check in front of the AC condenser

Never heard of a diff cooler before.

As above there's already a power steering cooler. A trans cooler is a good investment on any car stock or not.

Hey guys, yeah I have steering cooler and the only reason I'd like to make it a track car is because I never see alloytecs going at it. And 210$ u say? Sounds good :) even if I didn't go through with it, I'd have a cooler for it. And ive never heard of a diff cooler because of the fact that diff oil has a massive friction rating so it isn't nessicary. And as for brake I would be doing a big upgrade anyways, I'll let you all know my final decision after NY. Thanks
