Gday guys, hoping you can shed some light on this... having trouble with the hvac fan going from low to high speed and back again randomly. Sometimes it will be fine when you first start the car, then after 5 or 10 mins it will blow at full speed, sometimes only for a second and then drop back down, sometimes will stay at full speed for the rest of the trip.

Whether you have the climate control set to auto or manual settings makes no difference. The only speed it will hold permanently if you select it is 4/high.

Any ideas?

Sounds like the button 'module' which can be replaced seperately to the unit itself

i would start with the fans speed resistor, which is easily accessible if you remove the glovebox, its only held in by 2 screws and just has a small plug run to it.

if thats doesnt fix it replace the fan motor itself, you will need to remove the passenger side kick panel under the dash but its is only held in by 3 screws and and has a wiring plug to the motor

problally 10-15mins each, to replace the parts
