Hey guys so when I bought my car a couple of weeks ago the fuel gauge always comes up saying empty and 65km left till empty, or if fully filled it wont go past 80% full. I had a mechanic have a look at it but his tech 2 couldnt fix it... I had a fuel injected gas system put in. could that of been the screw up with the needle and who can I take it to to get it fixed? cheers

If your thinking it is the needle try putting the car into engineering mode and see if you needle moves to its properly centred place

How would one put a car into this engineering mode you speak of? Lol

Nah engineering mode, from memory I think you have your car turned off, hold the up and down arrow buttons in (under mode and set buttons) then turn your car turn the key to on and it will take you through a bunch of different screens and readings on the LCD, when you get to the end there is a setting that lights everything up and has a constant beep and zeros all the needles on the gauge

My fuelsender is stuffed

Diagnostics mode gives it the all clear, so only other possibility is fuel sender assembly.

Might be case with you too

Just so you know to get the computer in this engineering mode you have to hold the menu and set button when turning the car on, not menu and the up arrow. Just thought I'd share.

There are other threads on this. Essentially, it is a standard feature. mine does the same. Don't see any rel point in fixing, as I know roughly how far I can get on a tank.
