Vz cam actuator seals

Hi I’ve changed my cam actuator seals and after running for about an hour it started leaking again pulled them out again and seals were chewed out. On the next set I noticed there is a lip on the inside of the seal wondering if this went on the inside or the outside and has anyone had trouble pushing the actuators back in
