Is anyone sure on whether clusters are interchangable between VY S2 and VZ?

Also can the binnacle gauges from a VZ be installed in a VY S2?

    Thanks in advance.

From what i have heard if you dont own a supercharged v6 or v8 one of the gauges is difficult to wire but can be done

If it is the gauges only, I am sure an electrician could work something out. I don't think the binnacles will swap over, as Holden changed the shape of the base, so as to fit the storage compartment.

EDIT - Sorry, I can't remember if that change was in the VYII or VZ. Anyone care to help?

The binnacles I am told won't fit your exec, it wont even fit climate control cars up to VY2..VZ has totally different console surround and climate housing, so what Mark said is pretty much correct. On some, the binnacles are an option, so remove the new storage compartment and the binnacles go straight in.

    Thanks so far.

OK, I'll forget the binnacle guages for the time being.

I am getting a VZ Monaro CV8 cluster and the binnacle gauges. I am most interested in the cluster, as I much prefer a three window trip computer. It can be calibrated for one thing, and having my VSII Level 3 cluster spot on makes me unhappy with the 3.5% error in my VYII.

Is anyone aware of any issues relating to swapping the clusters between VZ and VYII?

The Monaro unit is brand new and has not yet been programmed, so cylinders, odometer reading are not a problem.

From what I have read and learned, you should have no problem.

The compatability problem was between VY series 1 and 2 only. The fact that you are purchasing a brand new cluster should make it an easy process, although I would bring it to a Holden dealer to fit, using a Tech2 (just to be safe).

VZ has a completely different cluster & they cannot be swapped into a VY,
The binnacle guages in the VZ work using serial data & cannot be fitted to the VY as the correct data is not in the system
