I just recently had my wheel off, mind you Phreddy did it, forget the procedure fire a PM off to him, he be happy to help you out, I put in a pic when airbag section is removed, looks like a torx type headnut, if you have one the right size, undo then pull wheel off :)

    If your doing a vz
You need a very thin bladed flat screwdriver, at the back of the wheel there 4 slots you have to push the clips back inside to release the airbag, be very careful as the bag will spring off when you release the last clip keep one hand on the airbag at all times.
Once you have released the airbag just clip off the yellow wire from the steering wheel.

I have done this to my VZ.. pretty easy procedure

As a good rule of thumb you should take out the airbag fuse (just so you don't have the airbag exploding in your face)....

    Cheers,
    Chris

    Hey guys

I took my air bag off, tinkered around with the steering wheel again and now Im getting a 'SRS air bag fault' when the car starts up. My sterring wheel radio controls are also not working?? I checked that all was plugged in again.

    Any ideas?

    Did you disconnect the batt?

If not that will be where the problem lies with the Airbag fault and that means a trip to your local Holden dealer so they can Tech II it at around $45.00.
Radio Controls? not to sure really, a fuse, a loose connection, pinched wire or some thing to do with the airbag as well as they both come off the steering wheel? No idea is what I am trying to say but I do know that the steering wheel radio controls are a bit hopless at times, working then not working then working again and I have heard heaps of them doing this.

    Hope this helps

The only time I did NOT disconect the battery I started getting this warning!

Can Holden Tech II do anything else to my car? ie tune it to match my zorts mods?

SRS fault can be reset by any workshop that has a scan tool like the snap-on one

I do them time to time, so you dont need to go to holden, just ring places like MIDAS, Autobahn, Automasters.......
