My air bag service light came on. Where are the sensor points to see if its only electrical. Or can other advice help.

You need to plug in a diagnostic tool to the OBD2 port. There will be a fault code/s logged that will answer that to some extent. At a minimum, will provide a strong starting point.

This is how all cars built in the last 20 years work now.

Thanks. Serviced car and they cleared the lights.

But we don’t know why they were there. An oil change (service) isn’t likely to resolve why fault codes are there.

Once the conditions for the fault are met again, the same light will illuminate.

Not sure but they cleared them. I am trying to fix the next issue. Had drive train light come up after a service and it came up with the fault U0101. Took to electech and he said ecu. Replaced it but now its showing front input speed sensor intermittant. I am becoming sus that the guy who put ecu in has done something wrong.

They cleared the fault. That doesn’t fix the fault.

A big call for an ECU to be swiftly diagnosed based on a code. There’s a lot of methodical checks to be performed before coming to a final diagnosis. Too many mechanics guess to make massive profits at the sacrifice of industry integrity in the eyes of the customer.

From Holden:

DTC U0101 – CAN-Bus No Communication With TCM (Transmission Control Module)
Conditions for Running the DTC
DTCs P0864 and U0101 run continuously when the following conditions are met:
• The ignition is on for longer than 3 seconds.
• The ignition voltage is 10.0 – 16.0 V.
Conditions for Setting the DTC

The ECM did not receive a valid signal from the TCM within the specified time frame

When this code is logged, the ECM is simply doing its job to report the conditions of the fault. It does not indicate the ECM is faulty. Its operating as it should.

He did. He replaced what could possibly have been a perfectly good ECM
