VZ Diff ratios

Does anybody know where I can find out the diff ratio for a VZ Ute?
I know this sounds stupid, I have a VZ SS Ute but I don't know the diff ratio (stock) and I cannot seem to find this anywhere......

Alloytec V6 Ratio: 3.08:1
Alloytec 190 V6 Ratio: 2.87:1
V8 Automatic Ratio: 3.07:1
V8 Manual Ratio: 3.73:1
V8 Monaro Automatic and Manual Ratio: 3.46:1

The ratio for a V8 Manual is 3.45:1 in a ute and probably a tonner. There was no option for alternative ratios from the factory. I wanted 3.73:1 and was unable to order this. At least on a 2004 order.

WTF?!?! . V8 manuals in the VZ's have the 3.73 diff set. It comes like it from factory! Its even in the bloody holden catalogue. I'm at a loss here. You have the 3.73 gear set I bet my left nut on it . That was oneof the improvements they made on the manuals, putting a decent set of diff gears in.

The ratios for the ute differ from the sedan with a manual. My ute is 3:45, it is a november build VZ SS and it does have a M6. Before I purchased the ute I checked 4 different M6 VZ SS utes at different locations and every one had a 3:45 in it. It was the way I confirmed it before negoating the purchase. For some unknown reason it is not listed on the holden web site and it is definatly not in the commercial brochure (Wasnt buying a sedan so I havent looked at that one)

Axel I am not from Sydney so im not familiar with any of the diff specalists up there but it should cost no more that $1100-$1200 for new gears drive in-out. I think the gear sets are about $600 from memory any ratio.

just want some advice on ratio change for sv6 as it the ratio is 2:87:1 ****,the mistake holden made.thinking of 3:46:1same as vzsv6 or 3:73:1,any feedback would be good.thing needs to get of the mark quicker,ratio change would do the trick.

Ummm I don't know what to say now, I'd really like to keep my left nut :whistling :embarrass. The brochure I have is for the sedan which was what my comments were based on. I was mislead alittle. *Goes back and sits in the corner* :embarrass

I have a November 2004 VZ SS ute, the diff ratio as marked on the white label on the off side of the diff is 3.46:1 - I am getting the diff replaced under warranty due to a whine under deceleration (with only 9000k on the clock). I asked the dealer if I could get a 3.73:1 diff as fitted to the Maloo (HSV) but was told that they could only replace it with the same diff. However he did offer to let me get the ratio changed on the replacement diff at my expense by a diff specialist & they would then install it at no cost. I'm not sure if the diff ratio is different on the 05 VZ's but I believe that there was a slight change on the VZ's to the ratio of 6th gear in the M6 box. My old VU SS also had a 3.46.
Anyone out there fitted a 3.9:1 to a VZ ute?
I am interested to find out what revs it will be pulling at 120kmh.
