Hey guys, well i went to a wreckers today and one of the cars they have is a VY Berlina with climate Control and cup holders, I don't want the climate control section but im wondering if

    A) the climate control section can be disconnected from the rest of the peice

    B) will the exec non climate control section then fit into this comparment and then will it all fit in my VZ.

    Thanks heaps for any help

to A: to a certain extent, but not for what you need
to B: no it wont, but yes it would fit if you have climate

We have a VZ Acclaim and a VY Berlina here. I have looked at the two consoles to compare them and work out how to do what you want.

The upper console section is the same overall dimension for both models obviously. The only section that differs is the air conditioning panel above the stereo. The raised edge of the console, where the cup holders are located, has a clear dividing line separating it from the centre panel.

It should be possible to cut the centre panel out of each console and glue the standard air con panel into the Berlina surround. If you take your time and do it neatly, the moulded dividing line would help to camouflage your join, but you could also very carefully sand the join in the groove then repaint the centre panel. The biggest problem would be matching the Dark Tempest colour - nobody seems to be able to nominate a suitable alternative colour in a touch-up can.

If you stuff it up, just get another basic panel from the wrecker to replace yours.
