    Hey,

I'm thinking about trying to address the gap I have between the front bar and the bonnet on my car.

Refer to this pic to see my issue:

It pretty much looks like the bar is somehow not supporter correctly in the middle and has sagged a bit as all other panel alignments are spot on.

What I want to know is:

    a) How is the front bar supported? (Pics would be awesome)
    b) What is the process to get this thing off. I took the bar off my VX a few times but that's a while ago and I remember finding sneaky screws tucked away in random spots
    c) Has anyone had a similar issue and what was the resolution?

    Thanks,

Have you checked the rubber stoppers on the bonnet? could be that the ones on the drivers side are twisted all the way out.

Yeah, I did have a play with these and I was able to get the alignment of the bonnet to the fenders pretty good. The issue is still where the bar meets the bonnet. There is also about a 5mm gap under the headlights which suggests the bar is sagging in the middle.

    Cheers mate.

Has it ever been in a front end accident in the past?

if it's anything like a VY there will be three screws where the grill attaches, two on each side in the wheel arches, and two just below the number plate.
In saying that I have fixed the sag on a VY and a VZ maloo by placing about 6mm worth of washers between the car and these front grill screws. Doesn't work well on a fiberglass front end so I'm stuck with the sag.

The front bar/ bonnet alignment could possibly be of poor repairs, but try what one and only said and see how you go. Otherwise you will need a panel beater to have a look at it. Goodluck

Yeah, I think this might be the case.

I did some fiddling today, took the front apart, made up some some 4mm rubber washer and re mounted everything. Also played with the rubber stoppers on the bonnet and it's looking a lot better.

    Will post pics later.

Bit of an improvement I think.
