Vz lumina lound ting when starting

:boxing: HI iv got a vz lumina thats starting to play up car is in really good condition but some times when i turn over to start & it dosent there is a single loud TING noise so i turn off and try again untill it works there is no error msg went from doing it once a mth to once twise a day CAN ANYONE HELP:lock:

starter motor gear is hitting the ring gear but the strart isn't turning... The start of the end for the starter motor, id get it replaced sooner rather then later

May also be battery on its way out and struggling to turn engine over.
