Hi All Just picked up my new Lumina the other day and there were no bulbs in the front map lights, i replaced them and they don't work now, and now neither do the back ones ( they were working before ) any body got any ideas? :bang: Cheers P.S Sorry if i posted this in the wrong area, i'm new :whistling
Hi, Welcome to JC.... Your probably best to ask this question in one of the two following areas: VY Holden Commodore (2002 - 2004) - Just Commodores OR Electrical Wiring / Questions - Just Commodores
oh yes it is, but does that mean that there is a short somewhere along the line for the from map lights, and if there is can i find it and or is it fixable, its getting pretty damn annoying not being able to light up the front of the car at night!
have you got a test light? if the back lights where working without bulbs in the front one the earth on the bulb could be shorting back to the positive, at just a thought. remove the light unit from the roof and check the terminals arnt touching or there is no bare connections or wires etc touching.
Thanks mate, so if i do that and there is nothing wrong does it mean i'm just stuck with out a front set of map lights? Also a quick un related question would you know how to reset the service reminder so it stops popping up, the person who services it doesn't know how . . . thanks again
service reset = hold up and down, turn ignition on, wait for confirmation, then hold set until it says its clear i dare say if the back lights work without bulbs in the front, the problem can almost be isolated to a short in map lights
Not too sure which interior light switch set-up yours has however some models have a three way switch that enables selection of OFF, ON without doors open and ON with doors open. Read the Owners Manual if you're not sure.
glad to see youve got it. curiosity, what did you find wrong? thanks, try to help where i can:thumbsup:
in one of the map lights, both the connectors were touching, it was the passenger one, so i just assumed that the previous owner couldn't be bothered. Thanks heaps for ya help mate. P.S The color of your wagon is what i always wanted, then i seen my lumina hahaha
no worries anytime, glad to see it was pretty easy to fix, haha yeah my wagon is a nice colour, but its a real b**** for showing up little imperfections
yea it was a toss up between your color and delft blue ... then came along my lumina ... unfortunately it shows up its slight little imperfection some lovely person parking and back drivers side and tail light are now a wee bit dented and scratched :\
