Yes, each cam sensor has a number or an assigned function. Any codes created will refer to the appropriate sensor.

Yes the engines run in a restricted fashion and the concept that they don’t is based on how the owner feel they are which is placebo.

Off the top of my head, go to engine management, 05/06 shouldn’t matter to much. Not going to be different wiring. I think the diagrams are in there rather than electrical.

Are you using a pc or mac?

I was having trouble with it earlier in the year, or maybe late last year?
My fix (somebody else said to do this) was to get a older version of acrobat reader.

yeah am using adobe reader - on pc - was originally trying to read direct from my google drive - that was a no go - so downloaded some bits of it and got bits and pieces - ultimately what i'm looking for is the bcm pinouts from the 05 vz one tonner leo ute .... and likewise the bcm pinouts for the 05 vz calais ly7

You can’t download bits of it. You need the whole file structure.

You can’t read it from Google drive or my link. It just won’t work.

Then open the document “start here” and go through the links.

I was going to post some stuff to help you but will post it in a seperate thread which will have broader use to others with fault finding and diagnostics.

It certainly looks that if you can make the ECM know its running an LY7 instead of an LE0, then it should work. The difficulty would be making it know it's just running the LY7 engine and not interacting with other up spec body control module features as well.
