VZ makes strange noise when starting

I have just picked up a VZ wagon, When starting it makes a clunk sort of noise, if it was my old faithful HQ Tonner I would suspect a broken engine mount, any clues?

Does it do it every time or intermittently?

Everytime.

Just as it fires up it makes the noise.
