VZ SV6 3.6
Hey guys / girls

It’s a 2006 VZ V6 Aloytech LEO 4 speed auto ute.

I’m currently haveing issues when accelerating.
I can accelerate normally/ gently but as soon as I need to take off quickly or accelerate heavy while already moving nothing happens.

It drives normally but anything over 2,000 - 2,500 rpm anything above 2,500 and it just flatlines, nothing , nada. I have noticed that if I attempt it when I let off the throttle it coghs/ back fires with out the bang occasionally if that makes sense.

I have no idea what’s going on and I can’t find any other thread with anything similar , also tried google and YouTube also nothing.

Iv put my OBD2 scan tool on and nothing .

Any help or insights would be appreciated

Your problem could be electrical or fuel related.

Check the MAF Sensor it may need cleaning.

You could have a build up of 'glug' (oil residue) in the inlet manifold. Can be cleaned with suitable cleaners.

Could be spark plugs, coils, injectors.

Have you considered that you may have contaminated fuel ! It can and does happen.

Fuel Filter may be blocked restricting fuel flow.

Check you Air cleaner filter, if it's dirty/contaminated it can result in very poor engine performance.

If you are a member of an Auto Club (RACV. NRMA, RACQ, RAA etc) call them to have Mobile Patrol attend and plug their Scanner into the OBD2 port. Usually they have a more advanced (much better) scanner than those readily available of ebay.

If any of the above don't remedy your problem(s) suggest you find a reputable (REPUTABLE - Reputable definition: A reputable company or person is reliable and can be trusted) to diagnose your problem(s) NOT throw parts at it (obviously at YOUR expense) without knowing what the underlying issue might be. Good luck.
