vz really fast idle???

my sv6 when u first start it up it idles really high and when u go in to drive u have to really hold the brake it quite easly gets up to 20kmh just on idle any ideas???

prolly cause the car is cold mine does the same thing on start up then once its warm it dies down does urs do it all the time??

cold start, it idles higher to warm up the engine quicker and reduce emissions, also prevents the car stalling in freezing conditions

mate on cold start the car idles at around 1000-1300 rpm, when the engine attians its normal temparature it drops back to 700-800rpm and as said above that helps to circulate the oil through the engine and warm it up to its normal working temparature:)
