VZ SV6
Hi guys, im new to this site since i recently purchased a 2006 sv6 vz. It came with genuine cv8 monaro 18" rims, 235/40R18's all around. But for me thats just not big enough :p My mate has a VE ss ute with 245/30R20's on the front and 275/30R20's on the back. They are the new Holden pentagon rims, and I reckon they would look hectic on my car :) thing is he wants to get 22's and so sell the ones he has atm. I wanna buy them but I need to make sure that they will fit on my car.... I know the size of the VE wheels are a bit bigger so will that effect the speedometer? will the holes fit with my VZ holes? and Im not worried about the 245's up front, but will I have problems with the 275's at the rear? Any feedback would be much appreciated :)

It wont affect the speedo if you fit different tyres ie 225/30/20. This will keep the same rolling diameter as standard and ensure the tyres dont rub on anything.

The stud holes are the same but the centre hole needs to be machined out to fit the VZ hub.

Most people fit 4 x front rims as the big rears are a mission to fit to pre VEs.

Think you will need to get the VE rims machined to suit your VZ apparently about $100 per rim...

Would ve ssv 245/40/19 be ok for the rears on a vz? I know the fronts have to be 245/35 to fit under the front struts

I run SSV rims and have 245/35R19 all around. They look better than 40 profile and it keeps the speedo accurate.

It all depends where you live and what the local people charge. I live in Bathurst and I couldnt get them done anywhere in town for under $60/wheel. Yeah I could got it done in Sydney for $30 or whatever, but then Ive gotta drive them down there and pay for travel expenses etc. Its not hard to imagine some places especially in smaller towns wanting $100/wheel.
