Hi guys, I'm about to replace the water pump on a 6 litre v8 this weekend, are there any important tips or tricks that I should be aware of to make the job easier? There's only so much a workshop manual can tell you and they often fail to tell you about stuff like bits that you don't necessarily need to remove to get the job done etc - your experiences would be very much appreciated.

Cheers

Easy as piss, remove intake pipe, remove belt, undo 6x 10mm bolts and remove top hose. Done. Where is it leaking? You may be able to just replace the 2 gaskets

Thanks for the quick reply. I believe it is leaking from the weep hole as per the usual sign of a dead water pump. I figured it should be fairly straight forward but you just never know when you're doing it for the first time. Thanks for the reassurance.
