Hi all. I've had a hunt around the forums but wouldn't mind some input....
2006 VZ SS auto with 150,000 on clock. Has the vibration that comes in at 100 and seems to almost
go around 110. If you keep driving on smooth road at constant speed / revs the vibration seems to get more evident through whole car. Vibration doesn't change with revs or load. Slipping into neutral does nothing. I've looked at tailshaft donuts and barring a few very small cracks at front they look fine. The centre bearing looks ok too. I'm new to Commodore so any advice really appreciated.

Hi - I was thinking balance too and had all four done - vibration remains.
I had the rear tyres replaced as they were worn. Guess what - vibration is the same....

Do you feel it through the steering wheel, through your butt in the seat or through the whole car?

Hi - it's a seat of the pants feeling. I had another tyre shop balance all four wheels again today and vibration has now moved to front through steering wheel. Looks like vs2DESIRE's thoughts were on the money. Just need to work out why we're chasing a vibration / shimmy around.....

What brand of tyres? Could be an out of round tyre, common with cheapo brands, or a buckled rim that the retards missed when balancing them up.

I recon alternate your spare tire threw and see if that changes anything . Other than that look at your front end bushes , warped rotors

If the gear selector is shaking it could be balance problem from chinese tyres (even the rear set) though the most likely culprit is the drive train.

* Engine mounts
* Trans mounts
* Tailshaft problems (if so most likely center bearing)
