Howdy guys, I did a bit of a search for this on here and google and didn't have much luck. Hopefully someone can help. I'm just looking at upgrading my VZ SS's brakes, and wondering if there is much of a difference between the SS brakes and HSV brakes. Also is there anywhere in particular that I can look for them, I searched eBay today and didn't come up with much. Thanks in advance guys. Cheers, James
It's a LS1, and for street I've bled my brakes several times, the pads and discs are in good nick, but I'm still unhappy with the brakes and pedal feel. Cheers
I went from the vy ss brakes to the vz premium brake upgrades the 350mm fronts and 332mm rears with 4 pots all round and love them only down side is the brake dust
VZ std brakes V6 & V8 front 298x28mm & rear 286x16mm solid. SS/Z brakes V8 only front 320x28mm & rear 286x18mm vented. HSV performance brakes front 330x32mm & rear 315x18mm vented. HSV Harrop (4spot) front 343x32mm & rear 315x18mm vented also with 4 spot calipers. HSV VZ AP " front 350x32mm & rear 332x24mm vented '' '' '' " " .
Yep sizes are as surfwagon wrote. Have a chat to Greg at GSL Rallysport in the sponsors section, he can give you prices on all the different specs. The SSZ upgrade is good value.
The pads in the AP 4 spot setup are the same as Ferodo DS2500 formula. I have these same brakes on my senator and for street use they are great, have heard for track use they need better pads or upgrading to the 6/4 larger GTS AP's.
Give Matt@ Racebrakes Sydney a ring, plenty of people on here and other forums use his pads with great success.
