Hey, Im looking at fitting superlow springs in my vz ss ute and was just wondering if anyone has any photos of their ss (sedan or ute) with superlows? Is it nessecary to replace shockies and fit a camber kit with superlows? Any advice on good brands of springs would also be appreciated.

Secondly, Im chasing photos (again :) ) of a single din stereo installation into a vz/vy dash originally fitted with the blaupunkt 6 stacker.Im interested to see how it looks.

    Cheers!

hey i dont ahve photos but it is neccessary to get lowered shocks with superlows.....it gives it a better ride and a more stiffer feel to the handling...

i have fitted super super lows ( lovells ) to mine and am still using original shocks - it dropped 65mm in rear and 55mm in front. Its still got enough down travel as mine had FE2 suspension
The only prob is theyre not quite as controlling as would like with the rating of the coil( but still has a nice ride)
One big problem though is you cant hit big dips with speed as under carriage hits hard-found out the hard way- speed bumps also a problem- but looks sweet
picture attached was 2 days after fitting but now 2 months has dropped a bit more

kmbattle, Na i didnt fit it myself, did help the installer though, I did all the speakers and stuff and watched most of the head unit install (i have since installed a sub which was easy), some dash removal etc, main thing I was impressed with was the head unit instal was the installer wired it into a plug that fitted the standard wiring loom, plugged straight in with no need to chop wires which I thought was fantastic, so if someone tells you it cant be done, it can!, only other trick that I am aware of is the aerial plug is different for some reason, but the installer had an adapter that plugged into make it fit. other than that it seemed easy, but I would recomend a good installer do the head unit at least. And if you do install a new head unit, make sure that you cancel the display on the dash first, a lot of people have been complaining of losing there options menu, but my VY and my mates VZ never had this problem as we both cancelled the radio display through the options menu before the original head unit was removed. Hope some of this helps.

    Enjoy

I got Super Low Pedders on my impulse Blue SS ute and kept the original shocks and i reckon it looks awesome with a set of chrome 19's, ride is still comfortable although a bit rougher on bad roads.
Barcode your ride looks awesome, might have to go for Lovells next car.
I would post pics but everytime i try it seems to fail.

Hey barcode just wondering if your ute came with the lower radiator grille already fitted? (if your not sure what I mean, its the grille in the gap below the front number plate)
Mine didnt. Went and got one yesterday and tried to fit it and found there where no clips to secure it to the bumper. I took it back to holden today and now they tell me the bumpers on the utes are different to sedans, obviously the sedan bumpers do have the clips. Now im gonna have to try and stick it in with sikaflex or something similar. I see it as being a pretty essential part, with summer comin up the bugs will be out and i dont particularly want them embedded in my condenser.
Oompn, I cant tell from your photo, does your ute have one?
    Thanks

You are right in that the ute bumper is different to sedan
i have seen a few around with the factory mesh fitted and one person told me he used sika to hold it in there-another ordered the vehicle with it fitted
i wanted something different to the standard so i just used alloy mesh
easy to fit just bend around the bar and glue it in with sika( 5 minute job to remove bumper)
i also modded my grille to suit ( main reason was i didnt like the honeycomb mesh personally and dont like the chev grilles)- just my opinion-which is why i did what i did

    Front Grille

kmbattle, no mine didnt come with the grille. A mate with a VZ S bought the grille from Holden and glued it in, so I am going to do that aswell.

    not real hard at all
    remove grille
couple of clips or screws on side in wheel arch
couple of clips under number plate
and i think a couple of screws underneath
    from what i can remember
only took me 5 mins the first time i did it
