Hi guys.

my girlfriend is looking at getting a VZ Sv6.

from what i can see on redbook they stopped making the S pacs after the VY.
the VZ Sv6 has a smaller engine but produces more power and Torque than the VY S (please correct me if i am wrong).

I would like to know what is the better car of the two

Thanks

yeah i like the fact that it has the semi automatic 5speed and she wants the auto, it needs to pull a horse float around every now and then so will be much easier for her.

Fair enough. she was at the dealership and they just called Holden to find out what the towing capacity is of the SV6 is and apparently they can only tow 1.6 tone. I thought they would tow 2.1? can anyone help us out here because the one thing that we need to be sure of over anything it that it is going to be able to up to 2100kg

The VY S would probably be better for towing as it has more down low torque but I'm sure the SV6 would be able to tow what you need.

The VZ sv6 actually produces 340Nm @ 3200rpm where as the YY S produces 305Nm @ 3600-3600rpm according to Redbook, not that they are exactly 100% correct all the time.

I am guessing that whoever they talked to at Holden had no idea what the were talking about when they said it will only tow 1600kgs

1.6 seems to be the limit on commies.

at peak torque yes, but both engines at about 1500rpm the ecotec will have more torque.

Have you pulled an empty horse float behind a commodore before? That's fun enough, Personally if your looking at pulling a Pal box around get something heavier with more weight in the arse end. Less likely to get messy if something happens
