Hi all ,
So I recently done an engine swap from 175kw to 190kw aswell as manual conversion from 4 spd auto to 6spd manual. Everything’s been plugged in and Ecu, bcm, pim and key head have been replaced but the Ute won’t crank at all. It gets reds on the dash but won’t make a sound when I try to start it. Any Advice would be great as I am completely stuck on what to do now.

Did you put a link across/in the Auto Inhibitor Switch ?

Wiring loom changed as well?

"Link" used to be done to convince the old switches, that the car in in N or P to start.

Tell me you have the clutch in when trying to start at the moment.

We changed the auto gearbox loom to the manual loom, and yes , both by pressing the clutch pedal and by hand clicking in the actual button

Maybe the the loom and set of computers (PIM, ECM, BCM & PCM(manual PCM would be needed?)) didn't match the key head you got with it?

Way around that, get a keyhead and programming module from super cheap and get it running that way. (if a mismatch of VIN data is the issue)

Ideally, getting ELM Street or similar program running on a PC and plugging it into the OBD2 port should yield many answers.

That was my guess but I kept getting told that it all should be matching. Maybe I’ll just look into what you said and give it a go. Can’t hurt

The other problem might be mismatched computers. Again, the only way to tell is to plug the car into a diagnostic program on pc or similar which will show VIN details for the separate computers.
