Which one ? ... Every Holden dealer I go to or speak to seem to make up figures as they go ... Spark plugs from one Holden dealer were $14.95 each and another dealer sold them for $12 each .... Manifold metal gasket was $60 from one dealer and $40 from another ... $120 per hour to diagnose car problem from one dealer and $160 from another ... How the hell does that work ???

Hmmm fair enuff ... I find them all to be a joke ,I ordered a bonnett protector $130 .... Got someone to pick it up for me as I finished work late that day and it was all scratched and marked but in a plastic sealed bag , ordered a strut brace $50 , go to pick it up and they charge $2.50 for each nut to attach it .... first of all how come a strut brace is more than half the cost of a plastic bonnett protector which Comes with fitting hardware ? And second how the hell
Do you sell a strut brace without fitting hardware ??? Pfffft

After working in the trade I haven't put my car in to a mechanic since as they do not do the job properly and charge for Labour they haven't done. You would be lucky if a qualified mechanic does the job as most services are done by an apprentice and you get charged full rate. As for pricing, they charge what they want.

This has done me proud for near 20 years.
Coolant bottle with a bit of radiator hose. Could be refined with a thinner seal, but does ok. I do have to hold this on wearing a glove.

Shove in the top. Fill ½ way and have the engine run through a few thermostat cycles. 30-40mins, I spend and it gets every bit of air out.

You need more coolant on hand as the air bleeds out and the level drops. You need it close. I use a premix in a new cheap watering can, on a table at reachable height. (Because I have to hold my make shift tank on)

Had little moment today. Was at Bunnings and saw a rubber hose joiner in the retic aisle. Thought, that looks a pretty good fit. It was. The ribs in it pleasured me... because they fit over the thread on the bottle. It also jams and seals into the filler hole. Perfect seal. Now I don’t have to hold the home made s_itty tank and it’s no longer s_itty. It’s perfect.

I was able to fill the coolant close to 6ltrs straight off. Having it bubble away. Gave the bottom hose plenty of squeezes and really got some air out. That was with the car off.

So bleeding while it’s running should be quicker. I will still hold it to be sure. Because the engine will be vibrating etc.

So using this $4 rubber part means it can stand there on its own. (In old mans voice) It has revolutionised my methods of 20years.

I did cut the rubber joiner a bit so it sits lower and more steady.

Give it a go ya plebs.
