G'day, hoping someone can point me in right direction. As per the title it starts fine first time in morning or after a lengthy stop but if I try to start after stopping for a few minutes (i.e warm enginge) it will hang longer on the starter and then fire, sometimes coughs a bit but then once running sounds and feels completely normal.

I have just thrown some new plugs at it (which brought the fuel economy back to 8.5/9 from 11/12 by the way) and a new fuel filter (50bucks?!!!). I have also run some injector cleaner through it in my naive attempt at a 'tuneup' in a bottle....

I'm thinking it might be a (temp) sensor that has gone tits up and not sensing the warm engine and giving the wrong fuel/air mix for startup? Is their such a thing?

Any GMH workshop boys/girls that can point out all the sensors and their function on these engines?

Thanks in advance.

Nobody knows where the sensors are on these things? I thought it would have been Ecotec Day 1 for the GMH techs I see on here....:)

The intake temp sensor is part of the maf meter. Not sure what the problem could be, you would need some good diagnostic tools like a scan tool to check injector pulse and voltages at the coils to really see why it's hanging on the starter motor longer than usual.
