you didn't get a brass bladed, 09+ throttle body by any chance? Had a lot of issues getting one to work on my VZ L76. Seriously not worth the bother if that's the case.

No, I bought a new GM throttle body, I even paid the ridiculous price for the genuine GM o-ring.

Maybe try testing the accelerator position sensors to make sure the throttle body is getting the correct info.

Hi I don't suppose the manual states any wire colours of pin positions to take the voltage readings from?

Problem re-occurred the past two mornings within 200m from my house, had to leave the car and walk as it wouldn't re-start without safety mode active even after about 8 attempts. I had actually hoped it had broken down for good so it might be easier to trace but it started fine after 5pm that evening when I walked back to it...

The GM workshop manuals you bought for $500, were they a set of separate books like I have some of for VN -VS models or did they produce one book /CD?

This is the wiring module associated with the throttle position sensor.

The manual is on disk and is about 6000 pages.

Thanks heaps for all this valuable info, only thing is my car is an SS LS1 V8 and these diagrams have 3.6 V6 Engine printed on them, would all the circuits and wiring colours be the same I wonder?

There is a relearn procedure for the throttle. I will try and find the Gen III info for you.
