VZ wagon or VE wagon?

Plan on buying either late model VZ wagon or early model VE wagon to do a lengthy trip around oz. As I will be sleeping in the back a fair bit, extra space may sway. Which, if any, have the extra space? as I don't seem to be able to find any info online regarding internal dimensions. Any feed back on this, and opinions on which is more reliable as well, would be appreciated. Cheers.

Just going by looks when i've been stopped in traffic next to a VE wagon, my VY would appear to have more cargo room and even more when the seats go down.

VZ Wagon with rear seats down
Length of cargo area from closed tailgate to cargo barrier 1950mm
Dittio to rear of front seats in standard seating position 2150mm
Ditto with front seats forward as far as they will go 2280mm

Width between wheel arches 1210mm

I had a VY wagon, same size as VZ and they are larger and longer inside than the VE. You should be considered over mileage and condition and service records.

I have a VZ Adventra and can fit a double air bed in the back with the rear seats down. I am a short bastard at only 5'6 and had no problems sleeping in the back. Plenty of room for me. Never tried it in a VE, so not sure which one is better. Hope this helps.

Neither. Get a VY. Same space as VZ but without the dodgy engine.
