Seems they decided to introduce Light My Fire instead....as 1 of 3 new colours for VF2 (along with Spitfire Green and Son of a Gun Grey). Since both Fantale & LMF are both variations of orange I assume they would have been too similar.

Actually after re-reading your post are you saying they made no Fantale wagons in series 1 either??..interesting because I can’t ever recall seeing one...only sedans & utes. Got me thinking....has Holden ever not used a colour on all of sedan, wagon & ute??

Yeah they didn't make any wagons in fantale… really weird.

The other thing about Spitfire is that you could only get it for an SSV or HSV...not SS etc

I’ve seen video of another manufacturers paint production line where a car can be painted a different colour to the one in front or behind it So why couldn’t a prospective Holden owner simply tick boxes and select exactly what they wanted.

A manual motorsports wagon in sizzle (or metallic blue, the color that has the green shift from different angles) with titanium interior and the missing Calais extras would have been ideal

They wanted to have certain models only associated with certain colours I guess. Could you imagine a Caprice V in spitfire for instance?
