Can anybody tell me what mods, how to, or if the Walbro GSS342 255lph fuel pump will fit into my VR.

Standard pump should be fine for a 355 VR. It was fine for my 355 VS and is still fine now that it's a 383. Much less trouble to install the standard pump. Do you really need the extra fuel flow? Make sure you have replaced your fuel filter. There is also a filter on the pump itself that may be clogged. A new pump usually comes with a new (internal) filter.

Thanks BlackVXGTS, already has an aftermarket pump but won't know what it is till I pull it out. Not going to take a chance on the standard pump, car is not always street driven and at times sees constant high RPM. Fuel filter has had regular changes. Have found a few posts on here and will probably go with a DW200 instead of the walbro.

Seems odd, maybe the VS has a different pump? Tuned a mates VR, 355 with 36lbs injectors and we were loosing fuel pressure and leaning out. A new DW200 pump solved the fuel pressure problem.

That's what is happening to mine, leaning out in the top end. The standard maybe ok if you give it the odd squirt on the street but i'm not sure it's up to the task at consistent high rpm.

Could be getting old to?

Either way a new pump will sort it and good insurance as a lean out at the wrong time can easily cost you an engine.

Done and all working as is should. Nice and quiet compared to the old one. Old one appears standard but by looking at the float someone has either tried hard to get it out or it has been changed a few times. Both sides have a few marks.

Good to see you sorted it. As immortality said, mine was going lean at rear wheel peak torque (630Nm around 4k from memory). Fitted the dw200 and problem fixed. Only a minor mod to the bracket was required for a good fit.

Haven't run it too hard but it didn't fall over at 5500 which is what it was doing. I didn't touch the bracket, the old rubber at the sock end, a clamp and piece of 6mm thick rubber seemed to hold it ok.
