hey guys,

I recently bought a new VF SSV Redline Sedan.

I was just wondering if any of you guys have gotten a Walkinshaw exhaust system installed on you rides.

I just want to know if it is value for money, if it has any problems, and also how it sounds.

I have looked up some videos on YouTube but most of the video quality has been pretty bad so i cant really tell how they sound.

Cheers.
Jay

i have one on my ssv (for this question its the same thing)
sounds fine, very smooth but not as aggressive as i would have liked.
no issues to speak of
value for money = no as they are overpriced to comply with warranty

easy choice unless you want to do some shopping for custom exhaust and tune, but you will likely be happy if your happy with the price.

there are allot of exhaust topics covering this though, have a read.

Jay a lot of car exhaust videos will sound bad because you don't you get the low frequency effects through phone speaker or PC. Worth being heard through system with separate subwoofer else good over-ear headphones.
eg. this video is about level of rumble and presence even with stock cam 2.5", yet most comments I've had (from people on pc/phones) is that it sounds light / tinny, like they literally don't hear half of it.
Listen on your phone then turn it up on a full spectrum system:

A close friend of mine has the Walkinshaw on his VF. No headers though.
I helped him choose it after looking at other systems and going to where they sell and instal the systems on the Gold Coast.
Have been no issues, and he loves the sound as I do.

What about drone with that system?

I've been in the car and driven the car, and there is noise, particularly if you plant the right foot, but no "send you nuts" drone that I would complain about.

OTR also came with the system, I should have mentioned as well a proper dyno tune. It was tuned to run on 98 as that's what my friend wanted.

Jay a lot of car exhaust videos will sound bad because

of the limited bandwidth available due to the el cheapo, 'microphone on chip' devices fitted to smart phones and digital cameras......

They have a real value of approx. 5 cents per unit, so you get what you pay for.

If you want a decent recording, you need a decent, external microphone...

Yeah was obsessed with this a little while back and almost clicked through Buy Now late one night...

But $200 is too bloody dear and really not much use going to this extent when it is crap taking landscape videos, sound up / down vs left/right.
