Hi guys,

Looking at a few options for my next ride.

Considering a HSV Maloo with cold air intake and walkinshaw exhaust. or a Holden SSV ute and doing mods along the way.

What do you think is a better starting point?

I really love the look of the maloo bodykit over the SSV one.

Help!

Go the real deal get the maloo it has the bigger brakes and the bigger engine there's money u don't have to spend on a ssv and with the hsv your car is a little more special coz you don't see hsvs everyday but you see heaps of ssv and commodores in general everyday
Go the maloo

I am thinking of new ute also, and reckon Maloo is the way to go. It has more than a done up SSV would have up front.
Plus resale of Maloo V modded ute is a consideration also.

Like anything, check all your costs up front.

How much more expensive is insurance for a Maloo when compared to a SSV ?
What is the price difference between the Maloo and the SSV (I.E. Series I or II SSV, E1, E2 or E3 Maloo).

How far do you wish to mod the ute ?

Things like the HSV Brakes, Wheels, front and rear bar, sail plane, and interior can cost big $$$$ to retro fit to an SSV,
however if you are not really interested in these things, then a mildly modified SSV will cost you less $$$$ in the end.
People have already mentioned re-sale value, but keep in mind, no-one really wants to buy a molested car, so if you are going to modify it,
then the resale value will drop when compared to a prestine unmolested ute.

Its always best to buy the model that best suits your needs upfront, rather than try and modify another model to try and make it what you wanted in the first place.

If I had my time over, I should have bought an E3 maloo.
Allways next time.

Well what sounds better?
I drive a HSV Maloo...
I drive a Holden Commodore...

Get the HSV, so much better than a standard SSV ute!
