warranty question?

im just wondering.. i know this sounds stupid and i should really just ask suttons about it but they claim they cant help me because they dont know and the right people to tell me arent in till weds or something. but what im wondering is i own a ve omega and it has 2 1/2 years warranty on it left but i wanted to know if i pull the console and dash apart (centre piece and blaupunkd facia) to paint them black. and sprayed my brake calipers would it give them any reason to void my warranty on any later claims?

It Depends on the warranty conditions. Most will allow you to do simple mods like as you said just painting some parts. But for example if you put a Pod on your car, and your engine craps out, and they find thats what caused the problem, you will have to pay to have a new engine fitted.

A bloke i know put LED tail lights in his new lancer, and came up with a error code on the dash saying bulb blown when not, The shop replaced ECUs, Wiring looms etc, Then found that it was the LED lights causing the issue, So he ended up with a $2500 Bill. Think it would have clicked hmmmm bulb light on when i just replaced the bulbs? Dumb ass lol

one of the blokes at work put bags in his vz that was under warranty... the only thing that was void was the springs and shocks that he replaced lol... they still covered the rest of the car... that and the interior isnt usually covered by warranty unless its different from second hand car warranties anyway so i reckon do it

Brake calipers that are painted are unroadworthy, HSV or aftermarket ones are ADR approved to be painted
