Was idling rough, why is it so.

Sitting at the lights and everything good and all of a sudden the engine starts idling rough and that bad I'm thinking crikey's it might stall. Lights turned green and I slowly ease off and all returns to normal. 6 hours latter I get back in and again running smooth as, why it started idling rough could be one or more of many things so I'm wondering has anyone got some suggestions as to why.

Your problem could be fuel or electrical/components also. For eg: contamination in the fuel, injector issue, idle air control issue, spark lead/coil pack issue.
