Quick question:
Can the original hold air filter (VS commodore) be washed?
what can u wash it in.

Presuming its a paper filter, no.

Replace it, its not much of an expense anyway.

yeah im pretty sure it is paper.
i want to get a K&N filter to replace it. Do i need a cold air intake as well?
any other recommendations

From what I've heard, the best place to go is get a VS CAI from your local Noble Holden dealer... $50 I think, which is much cheaper than all these aftermarket things.

I wouldn't worry too much about a K&N filter. They don't filter much better, but i suppose they don't restrict airflow as much... you will get a louder induction noise, but you won't really notice any performance increase as a direct result of the filter. The CAI on the other hand might help it breathe a little bit better.
