Sounds like a blocked drain pipe. When the air con is used it creates condensation around the evaporator core which is inside the heater box. This condensation is supposed to run out the drain pipe in the bottom of the heater box and out the car. If it's blocked it'll pool in the drain pipe and overflow into the drivers foot well. Particularly when turning left.
Easiest fix is to get under the car and attempt to unblock the pipe with something thin and solid (coat hanger worked for me). The drain pipe is located above the transmission in the roof of the transmission tunnel on the passenger side. It can be a bit hard to spot until you know what you're looking for but there isn't much else around there anyway. Good luck.
The workshop manuals say not to use wire or anything hard because of the A/C evaporator as mentioned above,it recommends using a long plastic zip tie or similar to clear the drains.
