the waterpump on my daily VR has gone...fairly straightforward to change?

I gather it is seeing there arent any cam belts to get in the way...

I find having to change this odd seeing it was only replaced 30,000kms ago??

after 30,000k's i would be asking for a refund. it is straight forward, just pull it off, and put the new one on. simple really.

like all first times, take it slow and dont miss the holes.

one thing i should mention is be carefull of the bolts holding the pulley on to the pump, those bolts can become treaded easily and are a bastered to get out if that becomes the case... so yes as above take it slowly, making sure you remove all old gasket junk, and making sure your not forcing the water pump/block bolts when installing...
good luck

Only an hour if all you do is change the pump - but who of us can let it go at that? Im maby not as OCD as pedrotski there :whistling, but still it's nice to clean all the gunk off the front of the block and mess around getting out all old coolant and gasket crap off, reverse flushing etc... so 2 hrs for a thorough job.

yeah it came with a gasket...no extra metal bits though

ive just got the old one off...**** knows what has happened but the furthest bolt to the left of the motor when looking at it looks like a bolt with the head cut off??

either that or its a very corroded dowel...

can anyone comment??

ill get some pics

Yer i thought mine had been over wrenched too, untill I saw a picture of the engine front on in the repair manual - must just be a dowel cause theres no head there!
