Sometimes disconnecting the battery for an extended time might remove the check engine light
But this is only a cover up really because the fault code will still exist and the check engine light will still pop up again until the fault has been fixed.

Just get a Bluetooth obdii unit for $30 on eBay. You can clear the fault and you also have something to read any future faults you get. Even cheaper ones then $30 I think

It is only able to be cleared using an OBD2 device with that feature.

Check Engine fault code - no. EOBD rules say that an emission-related fault code can only be cleared with a compatible scan tool, or through the car's own self-diagnostic mode.
Other system fault code - depends. There are no rules as such and some systems can be deleted by battery removal.

As others have mentioned, the fault code is present because there's a problem. Deleting the code only restarts the car's self-checking procedure, and the code will reappear once the fault is detected again.

The old engine the right bank timing chain jumped bending 6 inlet valves (right bank) replaced the engine that starts but doesn't keep running with petrol soaked rag in the through of the throttle body , been told that some Bluetooth scanning devices only work with the engine running, is any models you can suggest to Diogenos and clear fault codes.
