weird noise when starting

when starting if its a tick tick.. its the lifters. if its a quick squeel its the clutch release bearing.. if its a loud 2 second metallic grind its a starter motor

Take the belt off,W40 all the pulley's,including alternator,check for free-play / looseness.Pay attention to water pump shaft and pulley,I've got a manual and never had any weird sound issue hot or cold.
