looks veryyyyyy mint mateee, my interior looked identical for so long, beige dash but rest brown, then i vynal died it and it looks mint and went all out on doing everything black and tan
Hi guys and gals long time since i posted I have had a good trouble free run until... last night i took off from the lights and when the auto hit second it went boom it then made a whining noise with motor revs and I lost all drive, its at the shop today still well inside warranty only 10,000km's on this auto and never abused so hopefully its a blown seal or something. updates to come.
Problems problems problems, your not having a great deal of luck Sent from your god, for you to worship and give money
Ok the news was not good as the shop pointed out to me as they showed me the fine print of the original invoice, the gear train is not covered by warranty. The gear train exploded and took the sunshell with it and the rear output shaft also the inside of the rear of the case is shredded so I need another transmission (insert whinging crying sounds here) The bands and clutches were in great shape and shows the care I took of the transmission (never manually changing, never doing burnouts etc). Not good news at all but they are building me a new one at a $700 discount. Apparently 1 in 30 gear trains are dodgy and let go prematurely doing all sorts of damage to the surrounding parts thats why they do not cover that part under warranty. I also have to ask myself what the previous owner did when he got this tune? is the transmission abuse prevention mode switched off? is the electronic shift change too much with the power button on? further investigation is needed but as i said the rest of the car has been as good as gold for over a year.
Picked it up yesterday, new transmission $1500 drive away. Been informed that the tune is all wrong and the shifting has been upped electronically in the tune along with whatever else the previous owner had the tuner do, with the power button on it shifts way too hard and spits out transmissions so I wont be using the power button again. I am currently gently running the new transmission in for almost 2k km's then it goes back for its inspection. This is my 3rd transmission I might buy a manual car next or something less brutal in power.
a bit of an update: Been a while since I posted I did some damage last year and its finally going in to be panel beated, whole drivers side, bonnet, front bar will be painted. want to change the rims soon too but one thing at a time. its almost due for the 200,000km service and going to get full comp insurance XD These are my spare wheels sold the 20's because they were damaged. I am thinking about versus enduro 20" in white.
Hi its just the tune that needs fixing, some clown has wound up the line pressure too high in the software and turned off the abuse prevention mode. I just baby it around now and never use the power button. I am planning on getting a proper tune done soon. Taken today, Happy valentines day my love!
New headlights fitted, need to do the foggies black to match. thinking about doing the centre of the grille black too
Glad your problems are mostly sorted m8. Looks nice in that colour. Your very lucky they didn't ping you for the Otr and mafless back when u had the rwc done. First thing they look at here in SA. Keepup the good work. Cheers
OK Lesson learned! rotate the tires every 5000km's and check for camber wear! Totally my bad. lucky it went in a low speed situation. 2 new tires on the back now, will have to rectify with either a camber kit or a vx2 cradle. Seeing as I want an m80 with trutrac the vx2 cradle is looking like the way to go atm.
Going to be rolling on 20's again hopefully tomorrow These are the wheels Osaka Phantom 20" apparently the chrome inserts are removable
Ok got them on need to get a good pic, the 245 35 r20 were too big on the back and were rubbing on the inside top corner. so 245 30 r20 all round now and its not low enough to scrub.
like the wheels m8. Auto carwash...eeekkk... never, ever use one .those spinning brushes will give you masses of swirl marks on your paint that can only be corrected properly with a da polisher and cutting compound. look at ur duco in the sun, if you can see spider web swirly marks thats due to poor washing and drying methods, hopefully u dont have any, (yet..). had them on mine caused by previous owner , so used the da polisher and they are gone. other than that your car looks sweet...cheers
Front brake upgrade today, dba slotted rotors and bendix ultra premium pads. Stops very very well now!
